ASHTABULA COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

Carla Hague has pleaded guilty to charges she tried to kill her husband, Judge Charles Hague, by poisoning him with antifreeze.

Prosecutors say the 71-year-old woman gave her husband antifreeze back in September 2013 in attempts to kill him, but he survived.

Hague was scheduled for pretrial Wednesday, but her case turned into a plea and sentencing as she pleaded guilty to felonious assault, a felony of the second degree.

She was sentenced to two years in prison, but will not report until June 27. She remains out on bond until then.
