COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

For those of you out there still wondering what happened to former Gamecocks quarterback Stephen Garcia after his departure from the South Carolina football program several years back, we have news for you.

SEC blog Saturday Down South says they've signed Garcia to work with the site this year in an unspecified role.

"The SEC Network signed Tim Tebow and Greg McElroy, so we're signing Stephen Garcia," said a tweet from the website's Twitter account. "Details regarding Stephen Garcia's role coming in August. We're taking suggestions & guarantee it will be entertaining."

At the end of his time at South Carolina, Garcia was the third quarterback in school history to pass for more than 6,000 yards and had 43 passing touchdowns.

However, after he ran out of chances with coach Steve Spurrier, Garcia was kicked off the team in October 2011.

Since then, he has tried out for the NFL, became the third-string quarterback of the Montreal Alouettes in the CFL, and finally landed a roster spot on the Arena Football League's Tampa Bay Storm.
