HERE WE GO AGAIN: Cochran 51%, McDaniel 49%, still counting

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Six term incumbent senator Thad Cochran still holds a slight lead over Chris McDaniel in the GOP runoff with 92% of the vote in.

Cochran leads by about 4,500 votes, or 51% to 49%.

McDaniel led Cochran by about 1,400 votes in a June 3 primary but failed to win the majority required to avoid a runoff.
