NEW YORK (WCBS/CNN) – A man in New York City wanders into a McDonald's with a large kitchen knife sticking out of his back, creating quite a bloody scene.

Customers scrambled to help him the wounded man with blood pouring from his back. Shocked customers ditched their food and tried to make sure the victim didn't fall backward.

Tromaine Yancey was at this Jamaica, Queens, NY McDonald's for an interview Tuesday morning.

"I heard everybody screaming and it was a lot of commotion," Yancey said. "The guy came and he was standing there with a knife in his back, and it was a kitchen knife."

Investigators say moments before a witness snapped a stunning picture that shows the victim had gotten into some kind of fight down the street.

Once he was stabbed, the victim managed to stumble into the McDonald's where he eventually passed out.

"But he was on the phone and I'm pretty sure he was on the phone talking to somebody in his family or a loved one or something. He was talking to them, telling them it might be the last time they [could be] speaking to him," Yancey said.

The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital, and at last check, was listed in serious condition. Police are looking for at least two mean the man may have been arguing with.
