(CNN) - First, the House Oversight Committee focused on lost emails at the IRS.
Then a day later, on Wednesday, it learned the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is also having trouble recovering emails the committee wants as part of a separate investigation.
An EPA administrator said the agency cannot access some emails belonging to a biologist who worked on a controversial mining project assessment.
He said there's a challenge in getting access to data on a hard drive, but they're still hoping to recover all the emails.
The committee is investigating whether the biologist or anyone else at the agency colluded with environmentalists to produce a negative assessment of a mining proposal in Alaska.
