Pipe bursts on plane bound to Australia

Posted: Updated:

(CNN) - A Qantas Airways flight from Los Angeles to Melbourne, Australia was forced to turn back Tuesday night after a water pipe started leaking.

One passenger said the water seeped through the floor and rained on passengers in economy class below.

The Airbus 380 landed safely back at Los Angeles, and Qantas put passengers up in a hotel overnight.

In a media release, Qantas said, "There were no safety of flight concerns with the water leak, however the captain decided to return to L.A. in the interests of passenger comfort."
