Nearly 2000 renowned specialists and scholars in Material Science got together to discuss material industry development. iAbrasive reporters have learned that at present China has formed a material industry system features rare earth material, advanced energy storage material and photovoltaic materials. Its output value is expected to hit 2 trillion Yuan by 2015.

New material industry is an emerging strategic industry, which is the basis of emerging industries such as new energy, energy-saving and environmental-protection, information technology of the first generation, biology and new energy vehicle. iAbrasive reporters have learned that with the leadership of the government and concerted effort of technical craft workers from all industries, China has formed a material industry system. Among the system, capacities of rare earth material, advanced energy storage material, photovoltaic material, organic silicon, superhard material, fiberglass material and compound material are in the front of the world. The output value is expected to hit 2 trillion Yuan by 2015. For the moment, there are over 20 cities including Ningbo, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Qingdao, Panzhihua, Jinchang that have developed into industry agglomerations, which give a major push to regional industry structure upgrading and industry resources integration.
