MURRAY, KY (KFVS) -

The Murray Police Department says they have identified the suspect in a reported robbery at a pharmacy on Sunday, August 3.

Gary Vanderweff, 62, was charged with robbery first degree.

According to police, at about 4:20 p.m. they responded to the CVS Pharmacy at 12th and Main Street.

They say the suspect entered the pharmacy, demanded medications and threatened to use a gun if he did not receive them.

Police say no gun was seen, however.

The suspect was described as a tall, heavy-set, middle-aged man wearing a Murray State University hat, button-up denim sleeveless shirt, blue jean shorts, white socks and black shoes.

Following an investigation, police identified Vanderweff as the suspect. He was arrested on Aug. 4 without incident and taken to the Calloway County Jail.
