(CNN) – Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl is expected to be formally questioned Wednesday about his 2009 disappearance in Afghanistan and capture by the Taliban.
CNN has learned Bergdahl will meet with the general conduction the Army’s investigation.
Bergdahl was freed back in May in exchange for five Taliban prisoners. Some critics have accused the soldier of deserting his comrades in war.
An Army fact-finding probe conducted in the months after his disappearance concluded he left his post deliberately and on his own free will.
Bergdahl is now back on regular duty for homeland defense, civil support operations and security cooperation programs.
