Man arrested after meth found in Steele home

STEELE, MO (KFVS) - A 54-year-old man was arrested after Steele police say he tried to swallow methamphetamine as agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms searched his home.

Pemiscot County Sheriff's deputies and Caruthersville police officers along with AFT agents searched a home Tuesday night on Liberty Street in Steele.

When officers entered the home, they found a man trying to swallow something. Officers retrieved a plastic baggie containing purported meth.

The search warrant was the result of a lengthy investigation targeting sales and distribution of meth in Steele.

More arrests are possible.

The suspect's name has not been released pending formal charges.
