Elkville man charged with 2 Carbondale car burglaries

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

Police say a 60-year-old Elkville man is facing charges in connection to two car burglaries.

On Thursday morning, the Carbondale Police Department responded to the area of the 100 block of West Monroe in reference to a report of a car burglary.

Officers learned someone got into the unlocked vehicle around 12:13 a.m.

The suspect was identified as 61-year-old Willie L. Suggs of Elkville, Illinois.

Suggs matched the description of a burglary to a motor vehicle that occurred in the same area on July 1.

Suggs was charged with Burglary to Motor Vehicle for the July incident and Criminal Trespass to Motor Vehicle for the indent on Thursday.

He was booked into the Jackson County Jail.

The investigation into the incident is continuing.
