SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) -

The Sikeston Humane Society 'Meet the Pack' event Saturday brought in over a hundred people, adoptions and fun to the area.

The event was used to raise awareness about the Humane Society in Sikeston.

Volunteers and employees said that not many people in the area know they are even here. They currently are housing nearly 150 animals, and want the people to know they are here if anyone wants to help out - or adopt an animal.

The facility can comfortably hold around 115 animals but can house more if needed.

Since the facility is overpopulated, the veterinarian bills have skyrocketed.

Money raised at this event will help with those extra expenses. At the event, several pets were adopted on site and there were plenty of fun, games, food, and pets there for people to interact with.

At this time the facility can only accept animals from the city of Sikeston due to room available. The facility is run by mainly donations.
