SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) -

Drag racers say the world's fastest electric golf cart broke its own record Sunday in Sikeston, Missouri.

The custom-built golf cart from Springdale, Arkansas with Shock Therapy Racing took the track at Dyno Dom's Raceway in Sikeston.

It was all part of the 4th Annual Electric Vehicle Conversion Convention event (EVCCON).

According to a spokesperson with the National Electric Drag Racing Association, the golf cart flew down the 1/8 mile track at a whopping 97.32 mph in 6.63 seconds.

This previously beats its own world record of 88 mph at 6.68 seconds.
