Annual Electric Vehicle Conversion Convention event in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

The 4th Annual Electric Vehicle Conversion Convention event (EVCCON) came to Cape Girardeau this week featuring over a dozen electric cars from areas across the nation.

This weeklong event focused on educational sessions and shop work.

People learned the latest technology that goes along with the vehicles.

Enthusiast came from around the world to this event to compare build techniques, discuss the latest batteries and components and examine each other's cars.

Sunday, the event celebrated its last day by showing off what these electric cars can do.

They took the track at Dyno Dom's Raceway in Sikeston where they raced down the track and recorded their times with the National Electric Drag Racing Association on hand.

Speeds were reached into the 100s on the 1/8th mile track as spectators watched.
