PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

A Paducah, Kentucky teen has been arrested after he allegedly fired a rifle at his girlfriend through a closed door.

Johnathan S. Poole, 19, has been charged with attempted murder.

According to Paducah police, they were called to a disturbance at Poole's home in the 700 block of North 32nd Street. He was reportedly fighting with his father.

Police say Poole had been arguing with his girlfriend and threatened to kill her, then himself. They say Poole's girlfriend stood up to go the bathroom and Poole walked down the hallway and got a rifle.

As the woman closed the door, police say she told Poole, "Don't do this."

They say Poole reportedly fired one round at her through the closed door.

The woman said Poole's parents restrained him and she was able to escape the house.

Poole was booked into the McCracken County Regional Jail.
