Crews battle overnight fire in Randolph County

SPARTA, IL (KFVS) -

Crews were called to a house fire in Randolph County, Illinois overnight.

Chief Brian Adams says the fire happened in the 100 block of Main in Sparta around 12:30 a.m.

He says the house was converted into a storage and was unoccupied.

There is no cause at this point, and the structure is a total loss.

The structure had fire, smoke and water damage.

Old house is about the size of a two car garage.

The American Red Cross provided emergency shelter to two adults.
