MARBLE HILL, MO (KFVS) -

A Civil War Living History reenactment took place at the Bollinger County Museum of Natural History on Saturday.

They focused on the use of artillery and discussed about how the war affected the nation and the southeast Missouri area.

They also demonstrated the firing of cannons, muskets, and the type of equipment that was used during the war.

There was discussions also about the Battle of Crooked Creek which consisted of hundreds battling against each other in Marble Hill, Missouri.

According to Jerry Lutes of Stone River National Battlefield in Tennessee, southeast Missouri wasn't the main area of the fighting during the Civil War.

However, Lutes feels like it was the most gruesome with neighbors fighting neighbors and brothers against brothers.
