Carbondale police searching for 2 alleged robbery suspects

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

The Carbondale Police Department is searching for two suspects after a report of a robbery on Aug. 23 around 6 a.m.

Police say they responded to the 300 block of East Main Street and learned the victim had given two unknown people a ride there. Allegedly once the victim stopped, the two men began beating the victim and robbed the victim. The suspect then ran away.

According to police, there were no weapons shown or used in the incident and the victim had non-life threatening injuries.

The first suspect is described as a black male, around 23-25 years old, 6 feet tall and 180-200 pounds. He was wearing black shorts and had short dreadlocks.

The second suspect was described as a black male, 21-25 years old, more than 6 feet tall and more than 200 pounds. He was wearing a maroon sleeveless t-shirt.

The investigation is ongoing.
