Carbondale police investigating motorcycle thefts

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

The Carbondale Police Department is investigating after reports of stolen motorcycles.

Police say on Aug. 25 they responded to the 1100 block of East Grand Avenue in reference to a report of a theft.

They say a blue, 2005 Suzuki GSXR 750 motorcycle was stolen some time between 9 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. on Aug. 25.

According to police, the motorcycle has chrome wheels, multiple scratches on the chassis and a sticker on the right-hand fairing that reads "RSC."

They say it has Illinois registration CZ2704.

Also on Aug. 25 they responded to the 600 block of East Park Street for another report of a stolen motorcycle.

They say a red, 2005 Yamaha YZFR1 motorcycle was stolen from the victim's home some time between 10 p.m. on Aug. 24 and 7:55 a.m. on Aug. 25.

Police say there is no Illinois registration available for the motorcycle at this time.

Anyone who has seen either motorcycle is asked to contact their nearest law enforcement agency or the Carbondale Police Department at 618-457-3200.
