Information for fans regarding Southeast football opener

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

The Redhawks Department of Athletics is sharing some information regarding Thursday's football season-opener between Southeast Missouri and Missouri Baptist.

They say Southeast is expecting a large walkup crowd and encourages fans to buy tickets early.

Tickets will be sold at the Athletics Ticket Office, 1221 Broadway, starting at 8 a.m. on Thursday morning. The ticket booth on the south side of Houck Stadium will then open at 3 p.m.

Due to possible excessive heat conditions, fans may bring a factory sealed water bottle, one per person, up to 20 ounces into the stadium.

Thursday is Take a Kid to Game Night. All kids 14 and under are free with paid admission from an adult.

Free youth tickets are available at the Houck Stadium ticket booths.

The Houck Stadium main gates will open at 4 p.m.

Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.

Bellevue Street will be closed from Houck Stadium to Pacific Street for the Redhawk Walk.

This is a new tradition in which the team will walk to Houck Stadium, led by the marking band and spirit squads.

Cape Girardeau police and Southeast Department of Public Safety will be monitoring traffic to ensure that everyone stays safe, according to Darin Hickey with the Cape Girardeau Police Department.
