KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Kansas City Police are looking for a masked gunman who robbed a man at gunpoint Friday morning, and killed his dog.

The armed robbery happened around 4 a.m., at a house near Blue Parkway and Noland Road.

The victim, a man in his early 60s, told police he was sleeping when he heard a banging on his door. When he opened it, a masked man threatened him with a gun.

When the man's 10-year-old dog came to his defense, the suspect shot the dog twice, killing her.

The suspect hit the man in the head with his gun, and demanded money. The homeowner gave him $11, which was all he had. The man says the suspect threw the money on the ground, then burst into the house.

The suspect got away with the man's pool cues, which are worth thousands of dollars. Police have no one in custody.

The victim had a minor head wound, but was not taken to the hospital.
