Pittsburgh-based InventHelp attempts to submit an invention, the Lid Topper, to companies for review.

Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) August 29, 2014

Have you ever worked on a road crew or watched workers cut through road surfaces to accommodate the height of manhole covers that are not level with the road surface? Well, thanks to an inventor from Spencerville, Ohio, that job has become much simpler.

He developed LID TOPPER to allow the height of a manhole cover to be adjusted easily. Therefore, motor vehicles can drive over a manhole cover smoothly and safely. In other words, it prevents damage to tires and other car parts and reduces the chances of automobile accidents. It actually eliminates holes in the roadway caused by recessed placement of manhole covers. Furthermore, It does this more cost effectively than other methods that involve cutting through road surfaces. In addition, it is designed for easy removal along with the manhole cover itself to access sewers or electric lines.

The inventor was inspired to create this by his personal experience. I was tired of seeing new blacktop carved out around manhole covers to raise them up, he said, especially since this usually results in a greater hazard for drivers.

The original design was submitted to the Bingham Farms office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
