CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Southeast Missouri State University says water samples taken from the repaired water main came back safe on Friday. Full water supply has been restored to the campus.

According to the university, Residence Hall students are encouraged to return to campus on Monday, Sept. 1.

Classes will resume and offices will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2.

The water main was repaired by 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday - but the line could not be turned on until the city tested and received safety approval, according to the university.

A water main broke near the boiler plant in the center of campus early on Wednesday morning. It impacted both the water pressure and the air conditioning on campus.
