Antioch shooting leaves 1 dead, 1 injured

ANTIOCH, TN (WSMV) -

A man is dead and his mother injured after robbers broke into their Antioch home Saturday morning.

Police say Charles and Ann Peterson were at their house on Ascot Drive watching television. The electricity went out around 4:15 a.m. Ann asked her son to go to the garage and check the circuit breaker. The suspects shot and killed 48-year-old Charles Peterson in the garage.

The suspects walked around the house stealing stuff when Ann, 70, took off across the street. She was shot three times and is in critical condition.

Police got a good look at one of the suspects who they believe is behind the robbery and shooting. He was seen on camera, using Ann's ATM card at Bank of American on Murfreesboro Road.

"This is surprising, very shocking. I'm very surprised. I never heard anything around here this serious," a neighbor stated.

Investigators say they aren't sure why the thieves targeted that home. If you have any information about this robbery and suspects, call police.
