The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested a Lewis County mother and daughter yesterday accused of filing a false rape report.

TBI began investigating Regina Hobbs and Kylie Barber in July. According to a news release, Hobbs told Hohenwald police that her husband, a state trooper, raped and assaulted her.   Barber, Hobbs' daughter, told the officers that she walked in on the alleged attack, according to the TBI.

A TBI investigation later determined that the accusations were false.

Hobbs, 40, and Barber, 20, are both charged with filing a false report.  Hobbs faces an additional charge of aggravated assault.

According to the TBI, Hobbs pointed a gun at her husband during an argument.
