SENECA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Walhalla man who was wanted on kidnapping, armed robbery and other charges in Anderson County was arrested near Seneca on Friday, according to the Oconee County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's Office spokesman Jimmy Watt said Matthew Leopard, 36, of Robinhood Drive was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 6:24 p.m.

Watt said Leopard was seen at a business on North Radio Station Road around 2 p.m. Friday and was taken into custody by deputies.

Deputies found methamphetamine, marijuana and a stolen handgun under the front seat of Leopard's car, Watt said.

Leopard was charged intent to distribute methamphetamine and unlawful carrying of a pistol.

Leopard was also issued two traffic tickets on charges of driving under suspension and simple possession of marijuana.

During a Saturday morning bond hearing, a judge issued a bond of 26,272.50 on all Oconee County charges, Watt said.

Holds were also placed on Leopard by the Anderson County Sheriff's Office and the Department of Probation, Parole and Pardons, according to the Detention Center.

Anderson County deputies said Leopard was wanted in connection to a kidnapping reported in June.

In that case, deputies said Leopard forced a 23-year-old woman into a car at gunpoint and held her captive overnight.

Anderson County deputies said warrants were filed charging Leopard with criminal domestic violence high and aggravated, kidnapping and armed robbery in that case.
