CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

A missing woman was found alive Monday afternoon near the Diversion Channel in Cape Girardeau County.

According to Cape Girardeau Asst. Fire Chief Mark Hashheider, the woman was taken by ambulance to an area hospital.

The woman, described in her early 20s, seemed incoherent and was muddy and barefoot. She was found around 2:15 p.m. walking along Hwy. 25.

The Cape Girardeau County and Scott County sheriff's departments, along with Cape Girardeau County rescue were on hand.

Authorities did not disclose her identity. She had been reported missing on Sunday from Cape Girardeau, according to Hashheider.

Officer Darrin Hickey with the Cape Girardeau Police Department said the woman went missing from an area establishment. He said she went with some acquaintances and ended up on a boat on the Diversion Channel. She got into an argument and jumped out of the boat.

Hickey said she was lost and disoriented and wandered around until Monday when she was found.

He said she was not hurt.

Scott County sheriff's office pinged her phone on Sunday, but it died around midnight.

At least 30 people searched the New Hamburg and Chaffee area, according to the Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter.
