Watch for YourTurn normally scheduled to air at the end of Heartland News at Noon on Mondays and Fridays, at the end of Heartland News at 10:00 on Saturday nights, and following The Breakfast Show on Sunday mornings.
Martha Ethridge of Goreville, Illinois:
"When exactly did pharmaceutical companies take the power away from the doctors to decide what to prescribe to their patients? I have seen commercial after commercial showing off the latest drugs to the public...shouldn't the companies show the doctors the latest drugs and let the doctors prescribe which ones best fit their patients?...isn't that (why doctors went through) all those years of medical school?"
Preston Dallas of Wolf Lake, Illinois:
"(Regarding the Illinois Smoking Ban) I just hate seeing more and more of our freedoms taken away. Cars cause a lot of deaths and injuries each year. Are we going to have to start walking to public places now to avoid that risk as well? Maybe we should just all wear ‘nerf' suits, drink only bottled water, breathe from oxygen tanks, and walk from place to place from now on just to be safe."
Bill Miller of Anna, Illinois:
"Thank you Mike Smythe for your stand on the Illinois smoking ban. (1/6/08-Illinois Smoking Law) I am so tired of being forced to partake of someone else's filthy habits...it's time to say a big thank you to our representatives in Springfield."
Anita McDonald from Risco, Missouri:
"I would like to know from all of our candidates what they will do about the national poverty levels. People who make $10 to $12 per hour still fall below the poverty levels. What will they do to fix this problem?"
