Watch for YourTurn normally scheduled to air at the end of Heartland News at Noon on Mondays and Fridays, at the end of Heartland News at 10:00 on Saturday nights, and following The Breakfast Show on Sunday mornings.
Buddy Baker from Wappapello:
(Regarding Mike Smythe's ViewPoint on older workers) (1/27/08-Older Workers) He hit the nail right on the head. With the upcoming youth of today we are definitely in trouble. A good hard day's work would probably kill the youngsters...think of it this way, if you lived under your kid's roof and depended on them to support you, how well would you eat or sleep?"
Steven Casper from Mount Vernon:
"I remember the long gas lines of the 70's and it does not surprise me...that GM took back the EV1 cars (1/20/08-Electric Car). GM, Ford and the lot are in cahoots with the big oil companies and our government is right in there with them. Just think how better off we could be today if Uncle Sam (and the auto manufacturers) had not sold us out to big oil back then."
Heartland viewer William Roberts:
"Concerning the Illinois smoking ban (1/6/08-Illinois Smoking Ban). While I don't smoke at all I still believe that my rights are continually going away. Today cigarettes, tomorrow sodas and chewing gum...I don't like second hand smoke either. How about this for an answer to the problem: COMMON COURTESY!!! Not legislation."
Nita Robbins-Barker from Campbell, Missouri:
"...one of the problems with the Social Security System (is) who said a kid was supposed to have an income? The majority of children receiving benefits do so because an adult has sought a ‘check for a child.' As a former teacher and mental health counselor, I've witnessed many children becoming a pawn because of their income. Perhaps a child may need medical attention but a check? I don't think so."
