Watch for YourTurn normally scheduled to air at the end of Heartland News at Noon on Mondays and Fridays, at the end of Heartland News at 10:00 on Saturday nights, and following The Breakfast Show on Sunday mornings.
Heartland viewer Byron Snider:
"I received one of those tickets...from the cameras pictured in (Mike Smythe's ViewPoint) 3/2/08-Red Light Cameras...OK, maybe I deserved the fine...but I fail to see where there is any incentive for fair and accurate use of the system. The tickets come directly from the camera company with a copy sent to the police department. If the editorial is correct, of $1.3 million collected, approximately $520,000 went to the camera company. I wouldn't mind owning a camera company that could make that type of money in one city."
Don Goodwin from Dexter, Missouri:
"I taught Government in the public schools for more than 23 years. Here is exactly what the constitution says about individual rights: 'An individual's right to do anything ends when that right begins to infringe on the rights of others.' When a person smokes in a public place, he or she is infringing on my rights to breathe clean air. END OF STORY!"
Heartland viewer Gerri Patterson:
"A mother interviewed on KFVS12 was very upset and passionate that her autistic eighth grade daughter was being taught to wash dishes at school so...in the future she could push a broom at McDonald's. I am angry and offended...I have been a fast food manager for 22 years...and make a good living. I love my job and work hard to make sure that every customer in my restaurant has a clean, friendly environment to enjoy hot, fresh food. I am proud...to teach (young people) the responsibility to work and how to deal with the public."
Southern Illinois viewer Jerry Lightly:
"I love hard working folks from all walks of life...(but) was troubled to see Mrs. Barack Obama tell us that she is just now becoming proud of her country...folks (should) claim to be Americans first and they can be proud of their roots second."
