YourTurn - 8/11/08

Watch for YourTurn normally scheduled to air at the end of Heartland News at Noon on Mondays and Fridays, at the end of Heartland News at 10:00 on Saturday nights, and following The Breakfast Show on Sunday mornings.

Jim Epperheimer from Carbondale, Illinois:
"Why can't something be done about the homeless problem in Carbondale?  I manage a store in the middle of (the city) and constantly have the homeless roaming around in our parking lot panhandling...they get drunk and pass out in the bushes in front of my store...I don't want to seem heartless but I am trying to run a business...legislators spend a great deal of time and money to keep us working folks wearing seat belts and smoking in designated areas but the truly offensive people are allowed to roam the streets begging for money to get drunk."

Titus Vester of Sikeston, Missouri:
"(Regarding Mike Smythe's ViewPoint on pilots and jet fuel 7/27/08-Airline Pilots) it is OK for pilots to say how much fuel should go into a should come first.  How can you put a price on that?"

Carolyn Cremeens from Alto Pass, Illinois:
"...the office of the Illinois Attorney General is a HUGE drain on the budget...I am not sure how the office actually works in upstate Illinois but from what I see and hear from individuals in Southern Illinois they offer virtually no help."

Mike Hodge from Puxico, Missouri:
"Why do we as a country put up with a government that is so full of hypocrisy and greed?  One that is motivated, not by what is best for the country, but what seems to line the pockets of the lawmakers themselves...I vote to kick them out and start over."
