Watch for YourTurn normally scheduled to air at the end of Heartland News at Noon on Mondays and Fridays, at the end of Heartland News at 10:00 on Saturday nights, and following The Breakfast Show on Sunday mornings.
Phyllis Lee from Advance, Missouri:
"I listened to Mike Smythe's ViewPoint regarding schools which are ‘gay friendly.' (Gay School-10/12/08) Children and teens are in such turmoil anyway with hormones, peer pressure and puberty; I can't imagine how a (special) school would benefit them. Treat them as normal people with a different outlook, not as people needing a different school setting."
Ima Stephens from Chicago:
"I am a teacher...my nephew came out when he was a sophomore. It you want to have these kids beaten, stalked, tormented and even killed keep them in regular public schools. You can't control what these terrible kids do to the gay kids. The gay kids deserve a solid education without being harmed."
Kevin Perry from Marion, Illinois:
"The problems with the school systems start at home. If parents took a more active role...schools wouldn't seem so hostile. An all gay school would allow students the freedom to be who they are but it will also teach segregation and that's wrong...correct the parents (and you) correct the kids."
Randy Black from Jackson, Missouri:
"Mike Smythe should do a ViewPoint on how many parents drive their kids to school instead of making them take the bus. The number of high school students who drive to school is amazing...think about how much gas could be saved if the busses were full, not to mention all the exercise..."
