Smooth Away: Does it Work?
By: Lauren Keith

Ladies, enjoy.  If this week's product works, we'll never have to shave our legs again! What's also to believe---you don't need water or shaving cream! Just rub the Smooth Away file on your leg in a circular motion...and waa-lah! The gals from Mississippi River Radio have their doubts.

"There's no lotion. It's all dry," says Julie.

Each girl graciously didn't shave for two days prior to this test! So, we see Julie's stubble and we're ready to "smooth it away."

"It worked.  Look, really!  It did work.  It's a lot smoother there, and I don't feel any hair," says Julie.

We're all shocked, and Sherry can't wait to try.

"Ok, here we go. Wait--it didn't work on me, Jules. I'm not as smooth as you!" she says.

Uh oh....maybe it's a difference in skin tones and the coarseness of hair.  Julie has fairer skin than Sherry's olive tone.. Finally, after Sherry pretty much "sands" down her leg..

"I think I finally got rid of the hair!" she laughs.

It's finally a little smoother and stubble-free, but it's already time to replace the pad.

"You'll need 100 pads to do one leg!" says another tester, Meg Davis.

Let's see how a new buffer fares on Jessie and Meg's legs.

"Let me go to town and really buff with it," says Jessie.

Sure enough, by doing all of that, Jessie has somewhat a smooth, hairless leg.

Next, Meg tries it on her knee.  That's always a tough one to shave.

"It's not really working," she says.

All this exfoliation has Sherry's leg tingling now. So, she applies the enclosed special lotion.

We have four separate legs, and only one good result.  No one had the stubble-free results Julie experienced.

"I'd give it about a B-minus.  I had good results.  It's not something I'd use everyday though.  I might keep it in my desk drawer for a quick run-over, in case I missed a spot, or need to touch up," says Julie.

"I didn't like it.  I'd give it a C minus," says Sherry.

"As a substitute for shaving, I don't think so.  I give it a C or C minus, but I would keep it in my desk maybe as a back-up," says Jessie.

"I'd give it a D.  I'm just not impressed.  It takes too much time, and definitely more time than shaving," says Meg.

So, Smooth Away doesn't cause any pain, but it didn't "instantly" remove hair in all of our tests.  Looks like you'll want to keep the razor handy.
